New Director Training on Sunday, May 19!

        "Board Fundamentals for New Directors"

Training new directors is essential for building a high-performing board. It's also key to keeping board members engaged and helping them understand their role. Developing training internally or bringing in a consultant can be costly and time-consuming, while relying on experienced directors to provide training isn't always practical. This course was developed with that in mind.

After taking this session, new directors will learn these key concepts:

        • Understanding how credit unions differ from banks and why that matters
        • Knowing the duties and responsibilities of an elected official of a financial cooperative
        • Engaging in effective communication with other board members and staff
        • Roles and relationship between the Board, the CEO and staff

This session is ideal for first-term directors and associate directors who aspire to a board position. Participants will get to ask questions they may have been afraid to ask in board meetings.

        (Includes Fundamentals Session & Lunch)
